A chips van in the seaside district has begun taking scenic detours around every roundabout, despite being visibly late and aggressively full of vinegar.

Eyewitnesses say the van now slows at junctions as though reflecting on its life choices, then accelerates with the confidence of someone who knows a shortcut but refuses to share it.

One resident declared the vehicle “suspiciously committed to atmosphere,” while another said the van has the energy of a bloke who says he is just popping out for paper and returns in three hours.

Some have read the behaviour as a sign of hidden mission logic, though others believe the driver simply hates left turns and has never forgiven geometry.

Either way, the chips remain hot, the route remains baffling, and the whole district now treats the van like a minor celebrity with fry-based secrets.
