A receipt found fluttering beside a vending machine has caused a minor panic among the sort of people who can turn a barcode into a prophecy.
According to the theory, the total amount paid — which was apparently ‘too specific to be accidental’ — points directly to a new Vice City radio station dedicated to traffic updates, sandwich chat and what witnesses described as ‘an unhelpful amount of laughter’.
Fans say the station would fill a vital gap in the cultural market between upbeat yacht music and whatever noise is happening near the docks.
One online analyst, speaking from behind a large mug, explained that the receipt’s folded corner formed ‘an unmistakable frequency shape’ when viewed at a distance of six inches and a dramatic angle.
The same reading also suggests there may be a weekly feature called Mild Panic in the Potholes, though this remains unconfirmed and, frankly, slightly rude to the potholes.
Nobody from anywhere official has said anything at all, which has only encouraged people to create diagrams.
