Every few weeks the internet produces a new sacred object, and this week it is a seagull apparently wearing patent slippers and striding around the docks like a junior executive with chips on expense.
The theory goes that if the bird can keep its footing on wet concrete, it may soon control logistics, tourism, and the small but important market for stolen snacks.
Analysts insist the slipper choice suggests ‘strategic confidence’, while sceptics point out that seagulls are known for confidence, chaos, and absolutely no interest in anyone’s report.
If true, the bird would join the long line of Vice City oddities who look one step away from a business merger and three steps away from a bin.
We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation from a respectful distance and with our sandwiches hidden.
