A flamboyant pigeon has allegedly been seen pacing the promenade in a silk scarf, leading analysts to conclude the seafront is on the brink of an avian management reshuffle.
According to the sort of people who say things like "the body language is significant," the bird’s sideways stare suggests a campaign of total control over benches, crumbs and public apologies.
One observer noted the pigeon appeared to be flanked by two gulls acting as what can only be described as very cheap security.
The theory has not been confirmed by anyone sensible, but the scarf did look expensive and the chips did look nervous.
Should the pigeon proceed, locals are advised to keep an eye on ice creams, deckchairs and any suspiciously confident cooing.
