A bold new wave of analysis has swept across the fandom, after a bin lorry was spotted in footage allegedly doing something as radical as turning left.

The real story, according to several very serious keyboard gentlemen, is the pair of formal gloves hanging from the driver’s door, which they say indicates a campaign for cultural relevance, civic influence, or possibly a limited-edition tea range.

Their reasoning is impeccable in the way all internet reasoning is: the truck is large, the gloves are posh, and therefore the machine must be plotting something with branding.

One analyst described the vehicle as ‘oddly majestic’, which is the sort of phrase people use when they have run out of facts but still have a podcast to record.

Another noted that the rear hatch gave off ‘festival energy’, although this may have been caused by the fact that it is a rubbish truck and rubbish trucks are, by nature, a bit dramatic.

The consensus, if that is the word, is that the lorry may be preparing for a sophisticated public rollout involving jazz, local endorsements, and a ceremonial ribbon cut by someone who clearly should not be trusted with scissors.

No actual evidence supports any of this, of course, but that has never stopped the internet from appointing a bin lorry as the next great tastemaker.

If nothing else, it is the first vehicle in history to be accused of having a personal brand.
