Experts in making things up from moving shadows say a shopping basket, recently seen drifting across a car park with ‘unusual determination’, is clearly being set up for a meaningful personal journey.
The basket, which may or may not have had a squeak, was observed taking the scenic route around a puddle the size of a minor nation.
According to analysts, this is textbook narrative language: first comes confusion, then a long stare at a supermarket trolley bay, then an inevitable emotional exit through a side street.
One commentator suggested the basket may be ‘looking for purpose’, though it has so far only found a receipt, two grapes, and a mysterious commitment to left turns.
Theories are now circulating that the basket will become a local legend, a reluctant hero, or at minimum a very annoying obstacle for pedestrians with parcels.
As ever, nobody knows anything, but everyone does know that the basket looks prepared to mean business.
